The Federal Government has announced a hike in the fees for Nigerian passports, effective from September 1, 2024. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) spokesman, DCI Kenneth Udo, confirmed this development on Wednesday, citing the need to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

Under the new fee structure, a 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity will now cost ₦50,000, up from ₦35,000. Meanwhile, the 64-page passport booklet with a 10-year validity will see an increase from ₦70,000 to ₦100,000.
