Osun State Government Implements New Minimum Wage for Civil Servants

On Wednesday, the Osun State Government announced that Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved a new minimum wage of N75,000 for civil servants across the state. This decision comes in response to the recommendations of the Public Service Negotiation Committee.

Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, made the announcement in a statement, highlighting the Governor’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of civil servants, who play a crucial role in delivering essential services despite the state’s limited financial resources.

Alimi, who was part of the negotiation committee responsible for establishing the new wage framework, noted that the government team was led by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Kazeem Akinleye, while the labor representatives were headed by Christopher Arapasopo, the Chairman of the Osun NLC.

“The approved minimum wage of N75,000 reflects the administration’s dedication to supporting civil servants,” Alimi stated. He further encouraged state employees to enhance their service delivery by continually seeking innovative approaches to improve public service and ensure accountability and transparency for the betterment of Osun State, which has been in existence for 33 years.

In a show of appreciation, Chief of Staff Akinleye commended Governor Adeleke for making the N75,000 minimum wage a reality for civil servants, reinforcing the administration’s focus on worker welfare.
