Jigawa Wedding Poisoning: Investigations Underway After Groom Falls Critically Ill

A wedding celebration in Jigawa State has taken a tragic turn, allegedly due to the bride tampering with the food served during the reception. Reports indicate that this shocking incident has left the groom in critical condition and resulted in the death of one of the attendees.

The event took place in the Jahun Local Government Area, where eyewitnesses have suggested that the bride’s actions may have stemmed from a personal vendetta.

Shi’isu Adam, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the details of the incident during an interview with Newsmen. He stated, “We received a report indicating that the bride had contaminated the food at the wedding reception, which has led to the groom falling seriously ill.” Furthermore, Adam disclosed that police have taken two suspects into custody related to the alleged food poisoning case, which includes the bride and another female.

Adam stressed, “We will spare no effort in ensuring that justice prevails.” He noted that while most of the guests who sampled the poisoned food have been discharged from the hospital, one individual has tragically passed away.

The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, with plans to release further information as it becomes available. In his concluding remarks, Adam urged the public to remain calm and assured them of the commitment to delivering justice. As of now, the identities of the deceased, the groom, and the other affected individuals have not been released by the authorities.
