The Chairman of Kiru Local Government Area in Kano State, Abdullahi Mohammed, has been arrested for allegedly selling land designated for the Kafin Maiyaki Mini Stadium to a private company for over ₦100 million.
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission led the investigation, which uncovered the illegal transaction. According to the commission, the land was sold to a company identified as Mahasum, with funds traced to Mohammed’s account.

Confirming the arrest, the commission’s Public Relations Officer, Kabir Abba Kabir, revealed that Mohammed received a total of ₦240 million between November 1, 2024, and February 27, 2025. The agency has since recovered the money.
