Following the arrests, Governor Abba Yusuf convened an emergency meeting with heads of security agencies, including the state police commissioner Salman Dogo. Dogo warned that the police and other security agencies would clamp down on anyone attempting to tamper with the state’s security.

The governor subsequently announced a further relaxation of the existing curfew, which will now be in effect from 6 am to 6 pm. He assured residents that security forces remain on high alert to prevent any disturbances.

The governor’s decision to relax the curfew is aimed at easing the burden on residents while continuing to monitor the situation closely. The police and other security agencies are committed to ensuring the security of Kano State and the well-being of its citizens.

The arrests and detentions come amid escalating tensions in the state, with security forces on high alert to prevent any disruptions. The #EndBadGovernance protests have been ongoing across Nigeria, with protesters calling for an end to perceived corruption and bad governance.
