Keyamo Officially Approves Canaanland Airstrip for Bishop Oyedepo
Canaanland to Get Private Airstrip Following Government Approval

Ogun State, Nigeria – The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has officially confirmed the granting of approval for a private airstrip at Canaanland, the expansive property associated with the Living Faith Church, commonly known as Winners Chapel, located in Ota, Ogun State.

In a brief video shared with the congregation, the church’s founder, David Oyedepo, expressed his joy over this approval during the Tehillah Night Special Edition at the Covenant University Chapel held on Sunday. The event was a special thanksgiving service in honor of Oyedepo’s recent milestone birthday, as he turned 70 in September.

Tunde Moshood, the media aide to the minister, verified the news on Tuesday, stating, “Yes, the minister approved the airstrip. It is a private airstrip, and the minister’s approval is confirmed.”

Oyedepo remarked that the new airstrip will significantly enhance his travel arrangements, allowing him to depart directly from the church’s grounds instead of flying to a conventional airport first. He noted, “I am sure you will be pleased to hear that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members who own planes will now have a dedicated place to land and park.”

The establishment of the airstrip is intended to streamline transportation for congregants and visitors, particularly during major church events that attract large crowds from across the globe.

Encouraging his congregation to align with divine purpose, Oyedepo cited examples of Covenant University graduates who have successfully pursued careers in aviation. “Won’t you be glad to know that there are some pilots who are graduates of Covenant University that fly me? We might not have an aviation department here, but they identified their path in God’s plan and chased after it.”

He further inspired the youth by emphasizing the importance of recognizing their calling: “That’s what this university represents; it’s not about confining you. It’s about helping you discover God’s plan and pursue it accordingly. Young people, don’t waste your life; you don’t get a spare,” he added.
