APC Clinches Edo Governorship as Monday Okpebholo Triumphs Over PDP’s Ighodalo

Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday. He secured 291,667 votes, defeating Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,655 votes.

Labour Party’s (LP) Olumide Akpata placed third with 22,763 votes.

The results were announced on Sunday by Farouk Adamu, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, after votes from over 2.2 million registered voters across Edo’s 18 Local Government Areas and 4,519 polling units were tallied.
