Navy donates educational materials to schools in Delta
Nigerian Navy Ship Delta Boosts Education in Warri with Donations

The Nigerian Navy Ship Delta has made a significant impact in the education sector in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, by donating teaching and learning facilities to three primary schools in the area. The gesture, which forms part of the “Operation Delta Sanity” initiative, aimed at tackling illegalities in the maritime space, has been hailed as a major boost to the development of education in the region.

The Commander of NNS Delta, Commodore Abba Muhsin, presented the items worth millions of naira to Nana Primary School, Ikengbuwa Primary School, and Ogiame Primary School, all located within the Warri metropolis. The items donated included desks, whiteboards, exercise books, jotters for teachers, slasher machines for cutting grass, generating sets, submersible pumping machines, and overhead tanks.

According to Commodore Muhsin, the donation was part of the Navy’s educational program, aimed at distributing materials to schools based on their needs. The Naval boss emphasized that the beneficiaries were pupils who would be groomed to be leaders of tomorrow and urged them to be disciplined, diligent, and dedicated to their studies.

The Commander also encouraged school management to maintain the modest facilities and take good care of them. He assured that the Navy would continue to encourage teachers to do their best, so they can produce the best students that can lead Nigeria in the future.

The beneficiaries of the donation expressed gratitude to NNS Delta for its contributions to the development of education in the local government area. The Education Secretary, Warri South Local Government Education Authority, Augustina Omatseye, praised the Navy’s efforts while the Head Teachers of each school commended the noble gesture.

The donated items will be put to proper use and maintained adequately for the benefit of pupils. The Navy’s gesture has been welcomed as a positive step towards promoting education in Warri and has raised hopes for improved educational outcomes in the region.
