NDU Final-Year Student Killed in By Community Youths Over N150 In Bayelsa

A sense of unease has gripped the Niger Delta University (NDU) campus in Amassoma, Bayelsa State, following the senseless killing of a final year student. The deceased, Francis Paleowei, a brilliant first-class student of the Political Science department, was brutally murdered by some community youths while playing at the Ammassoma sand dump.

The popular sand dump is a favorite spot among students of the institution where they often go to unwind and socialize. According to eyewitnesses, the group of youths demanded N150 from Francis, but when he refused to comply, they turned violent and took his life.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the university community, leaving students and faculty members in a state of distress. The deceased hailed from Obrigbene in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state.

The tragic loss of Francis Paleowei has sparked concerns about the safety and security of students on campus, and many are calling for greater measures to be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
