Niger State Man Arrested for Brutally Murdering Father with a hoe

A shocking case of filicide has come to light in Niger State, as a 29-year-old man, Mizanmil Abubakar, has been arrested for allegedly killing his biological father, Abubakar Adawa, 69.

The incident occurred on July 27 in Barikin-Sale, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Minna, where Abubakar was found brutally hacked to death with a hoe. The suspect’s mother, Aisha Abubakar, reported her husband missing after he failed to return home, prompting a search that led to the discovery of the gruesome act.

According to the Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Wasiu, the police were informed that Abubakar Adawa was missing from his house on July 30. The police visited the house and conducted a thorough search, which led to the discovery of the severed body buried in a shallow grave within the compound.

During interrogation, Mizanmil Abubakar confessed to the crime, claiming that his father had so much hatred for him and that he used a hoe to hit and kill him. He also admitted to severing the victim’s body into parts, packing them into a sack and burying him in a shallow grave within the compound.

The police spokesman stated that the suspect’s mother was not aware of her son’s actions and was shocked when she discovered the body. The police are currently conducting preliminary investigations and will soon transfer the suspect to the Special Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for further investigation and prosecution.

The motive behind the heinous crime is still unclear, but it is believed that Mizanmil Abubakar acted out of anger and resentment towards his father. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and has raised questions about the nature of family relationships and the prevalence of violence in society.
