A system-wide power collapse has thrown Nigeria into chaos, leaving the entire country without electricity. The Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) have issued apologies to their customers, citing the collapse as the reason for the widespread blackout.
According to reports, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) notified its customers of the power outage at around 3:09 pm on July 6, 2024. The company stated that all its interface transmission stations are currently out of supply, affecting five states in the country, including Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo.
The company is awaiting further information from the National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo regarding the cause of the collapse and a timeline for restoration of power. Until then, customers are advised to remain without electricity.
The sudden power outage has caused significant disruptions to daily activities across Nigeria, with businesses and households affected by the lack of electricity. The DisCos have apologized for the inconvenience caused and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
