The PRP voiced concerns over the purported inflation of the budget from N25 trillion to N28 trillion, stressing the importance of maintaining fiscal integrity in the management of public funds, particularly in challenging economic times.

Muhammed Ishaq, the Acting National Publicity Secretary of the PRP, underscored the principles of transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility in governance.

The PRP’s statement follows serious allegations made by Abdul Ningi, the senator representing Bauchi Central and chairman of the Northern Senators Forum.

The party urged President Tinubu to not only investigate the matter thoroughly but also ensure that individuals implicated in any wrongdoing are held accountable.

Furthermore, the PRP called upon the National Assembly to fulfill its constitutional mandate by meticulously scrutinizing the budget to safeguard the nation’s interests.

In a rallying cry to all Nigerians, the PRP condemned the alleged budget padding and demanded accountability from elected officials.

They emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens in fostering a stronger, more prosperous, and corruption-free Nigeria.
