Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has awarded N10 million to Olaniyi Olawale, the top graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU). The announcement was made during the university’s 27th Convocation and 40th Anniversary celebration held on Thursday.
Olawale, who hails from the Department of Accounting Education, achieved an impressive cumulative grade point average of 4.98 in the 2022–2023 academic session.
This news was shared by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, via a tweet on Thursday. Gawat highlighted the governor’s gesture, noting that the reward was in recognition of Olawale’s outstanding academic performance. The announcement was made at the grand finale of LASU’s convocation ceremony.
