Tragedy Strikes Twice As Ex Governor Makarfi Family Faces Heartbreak Following Fatal Accident and Loss of NNPC CEO’s Daughter
Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, the son of former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has tragically died following a car accident along the Kaduna-Zaria highway on Saturday evening.
A family source confirmed the sad news, stating that Faisal was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His father was present at the hospital, and the family has begun preparations for his burial.
Faisal, a civil engineer by profession, had an impressive academic background. He attended Kaduna International School, Adesoye College in Kwara State, and later earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Greenwich, London. He was pursuing a PhD at the same institution before his untimely demise.
This is the second tragedy to hit a prominent Nigerian family over the weekend. On Friday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, lost his 23-year-old daughter, Fatima, after a brief illness in Abuja. She was buried in line with Islamic rites.
Both incidents have left many Nigerians mourning the loss of young lives in two influential families.
