The Commissioner for Police, FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has extended heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the management and personnel of the FCT Police Command for the generous support extended by the Minister of the FCT, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Report Afrique reported that Minister Wike issued a directive to the FCT Command to apprehend or neutralize two notorious bandit/kidnapping kingpins who had been wreaking havoc in the Abuja vicinity. In a bold move, he put a bounty of twenty million naira (₦20 million) on each of the two wanted kidnappers on February 14, 2024. Following through on his promise, the minister ensured that action was taken, leading to the successful arrest of the wanted criminals.

A statement released by the FCT Command hailed the minister’s proactive leadership and commitment to the safety and security of residents. “The implementation of such measures reflects the minister’s unwavering dedication and responsiveness to ensuring the security and safety of residents,” the statement read.

The CP ensured that the funds allocated by the minister were distributed among the tactical teams and divisional police officers of the command, enhancing their capacity for improved service delivery.
