Popular Nigerian Nollywood actor and comedian, Joseph-oronnro, also known as Odira Nwobu has died. His death has left many in shock as the actor was seen to be active on the social media barely hours ago.
The actor was said to have died from high blood pressure in his sleep after returning from clubbing while on vacation in South Africa.
His death, which started as a rumour on social media, was confirmed by his friend, Comedian Koboko in a Facebook post. Koboko mourned his friend and mentioned that he had a video call with him two days before the news of his demise.
In another video posted on Untouchable Comedy page, Odira could be seen in a friendly exchange with Untouchable in South Africa. The timestamp on the video shows it was posted 17 hours ago.
A video of him lying lifeless on a bed has surfaced online on Awuzie Franklin‘s page on Facebook. A voice in the video calls him “buddy” while his body remains motionless.
In June 2025, Nwobu survived a ghastly motor accident in Nigeria. A viral video capturing the fatal accident showed the moment bystanders were pulling victims from the wreckage. The actor’s car was severely damaged with both front and the side sections smashed beyond recognition.
