Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially commenced the construction of the Port Harcourt International Automobile Spare Parts Trading and Commercial Centre.

The automobile spare parts hub is situated at KM 17, Elelenwo/Rumukrushe, Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.


This project marks a milestone in fulfilling the governor’s campaign promises to the people, highlighting his commitment to the state’s growth and development.

The flag off ceremony, held on Thursday, saw Governor Fubara emphasizing the importance of the project in boosting the local economy and enhancing the state’s revenue base. He urged the host communities to rally behind the initiative, underscoring its potential to foster economic prosperity in the area.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Administrator of the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, Dr. Tonte Davies, commended Governor Fubara’s administration for its visionary leadership and dedication to implementing life-changing projects.


Dr. Davies highlighted the transformative impact of the Automobile Spare Parts Trading and Commercial Centre, which aims to streamline auto mechanics and spare parts businesses while restoring the city’s aesthetic appeal.

Describing the project, Managing Director of GOSH Project Nigeria Limited, Jeff Ayi Oko, outlined the impressive features of the Centre, which includes 10,000 lock-up shops, 50 industrial warehouses, 25 banking facilities, 25 plazas, an ultra-modern shopping complex, and hotel facilities, among others.

Governor Fubara’s remarks at the ceremony briefly touched upon the political landscape, where he addressed recent developments within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He reassured party faithfuls that the extension of tenure for State Executive Committees, including Rivers State, would proceed without the inclusion of new names, emphasizing a commitment to stability and unity within the party.

As construction commences on the Port Harcourt International Automobile Spare Parts Trading and Commercial Centre, Governor Fubara’s administration reaffirms its dedication to promoting development and fostering a prosperous future for Rivers State.
