Ekiti, Nigeria – Christopher Israel, a 42-year-old man, has been remanded in the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly raping his 22-year-old daughter.
According to Inspector Olubu Apata, the police prosecutor, the defendant committed the heinous crime on September 21 in Ado-Ekiti. The victim had visited her father when the incident occurred, resulting in physical injuries inflicted during a struggle.
The defendant faces two counts of rape and assault, violating Sections 265 and 256 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law of 2021. Magistrate Olubunmi Bamidele ordered Israel’s remand pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case has been adjourned until November 6, giving both parties more time to prepare and present their cases.
