Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Rivers State Police Command has rescued a 16-year-old girl who was kidnapped in Enugu and transported to Port Harcourt in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag.

The victim was repeatedly raped by her kidnappers after being taken to Port Harcourt.

According to Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olatunji Disu, the crime was uncovered when officers at the Abuloma Police Station received a tip about suspicious activity. They swiftly arrested one male suspect and rescued the teenager, who had been held against her will.

Disu stated that preliminary investigations showed the suspect had lured the teenager from her home in Garki, Enugu, placed her in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag, and transported her to Port Harcourt.

The police have launched a manhunt for other suspects involved in the case. The victim has undergone medical examination and treatment.
