Ilorin, Nigeria – Federal Government has announced plans to establish “Renewed Hope Cultural Villages” across all 36 states, aiming to promote Nigeria’s cultural heritage and strengthen the creative industry.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, Abiola Jagunlabi, Special Assistant to the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, disclosed that the initiative is part of the broader “Renewed Hope Cultural Project.” The project is designed to preserve historical landmarks, enhance tourism, and drive economic progress.
Jagunlabi revealed that the proposed cultural villages would be developed in partnership with state governments to revitalize historic sites and transform them into thriving creative hubs. The initiative is expected to stimulate economic growth by creating employment opportunities in the arts, entertainment, and tourism sectors.
“The success of this initiative hinges on the active collaboration of state governments, local communities, and industry stakeholders,” Jagunlabi stated. “Through joint efforts, Nigeria can harness the vast potential of its arts, culture, and creative industries to foster sustainable development and social unity.”
