Fidelity Bank and ImpactHER’s collaboration aims to close the e-commerce digital gap, which could add $180bn to Africa’s GDP by 2025.
Lagos, Nigeria – Fidelity Bank Plc, in partnership with ImpactHER, has successfully trained 1,276 women entrepreneurs in digital and artificial intelligence skills.
The free five-day training, held in August 2024, aimed to bridge the digital gap and empower female entrepreneurs to drive economic growth.
According to Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank, “Women-led small businesses account for over 40% of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Nigeria. By equipping them with digital skills, we can help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and economies prosper.”
The training covered topics such as email marketing, AI for content creation, and branding. Efe Ukala, founder of ImpactHER, emphasized the importance of digital skills for African women, citing statistics that show they are less likely to leverage technology for business purposes.
This development brings the total number of women entrepreneurs trained under the partnership to 5,719. Participants praised the program’s practical approach and immediate applicability of the skills learned.
Fidelity Bank and ImpactHER’s collaboration aims to close the e-commerce digital gap, which could add $180bn to Africa’s GDP by 2025. By offering free training and support, they are working to make digital skills accessible to women entrepreneurs who can drive economic growth.
