Moses Jituboh’s passing has left a void in Bayelsa State and the nation at large. Plans for an autopsy are underway to determine the exact cause of death.

Yenagoa, Nigeria – Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54. His death, reportedly following a brief illness, was confirmed by a reliable source late on Friday.

Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his tenure as Governor of Bayelsa State and continued in the role when Jonathan became Vice President. He remained part of Jonathan’s security team during his presidency.

After Jonathan’s electoral loss in 2015, Jituboh returned to his duties in the Nigeria Police Force. At one point, he was considered for the position of Inspector-General of Police but ultimately did not secure the role. He retired in 2023 as a Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of Police.

Tributes Pour In

The Zone 16 Police Command has expressed condolences to Jituboh’s family and the people of Bayelsa State. A statement released on Saturday by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, quoted the AIG of Zone 16, Adebola Hamzat, describing the late Jituboh as a dedicated officer whose contributions to the Nigeria Police Force would never be forgotten.

“He was enlisted into the Police Force on the 10th of June 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police,” the statement noted, adding that Jituboh had served in various capacities, including as DIG in charge of the Department of Research and Planning and the Department of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) at Force Headquarters.

The statement described his demise as a significant loss not only to his family but also to the Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa State, and the nation.

“It is our prayer that God will give the immediate family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss of your beloved son,” the statement added.

On behalf of the officers and men of Zone 16 Command, the AIG conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Jituboh family, emphasizing his unwavering dedication and integrity throughout his career.
