Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and contributions to the state’s development, noting that their efforts have been instrumental in advancing the administration’s initiatives and policies.
Bauchi, Nigeria – Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced a major cabinet reshuffle, resulting in the removal of five commissioners.
This move, according to the governor, is aimed at reinvigorating governance and enhancing service delivery across the state.
The decision was disclosed on Tuesday through a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. The statement emphasized that the reshuffle aligns with Governor Mohammed’s vision of injecting fresh ideas and energy into the administration to address emerging challenges effectively.
The affected commissioners include:
- Jamila Dahiru (Education)
- Abdulhameed Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs)
- Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication)
- Madugu Yalams (Agriculture)
- Yakubu Ibrahim (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation)

In addition, the governor has submitted the names of eight individuals to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for security clearance and confirmation as new commissioners. The nominees are:
- Babayo Tilde (Toro LGA)
- Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau LGA)
- Bala Lukshi (Dass LGA)
- Usman Shehu (Shira LGA)
- Iliyasu Gital (Tafawa Balewa LGA)
- Titus Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa LGA)
- Babayo Gabarin (Darazo LGA)
- Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro LGA)
