Beirut Targeted By IDF Following Death of Former Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killed senior Hezbollah intelligence officer Hassan Khalil Yassin in a precision strike in Beirut’s Dahieh district on Saturday. The strike came just hours after Hezbollah confirmed the death of its former leader, Hassan Nasrallah.
Yassin, a high-ranking member of Hezbollah’s intelligence division, was deeply involved in planning terror attacks targeting Israeli civilians and soldiers. The IDF stated that Yassin was actively preparing more attacks in the coming days. The strike was directed by Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate.
Continued Strikes Against Hezbollah
This operation followed earlier Israeli defense forces strikes near the Syrian-Lebanese border on Friday night. Those attacks targeted Hezbollah’s rocket and missile manufacturing sites, as well as smuggling routes. The military revealed that these sites were critical for the production of precision-guided missiles aimed at Israel.
Israel has continued its operations against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon throughout Saturday, aiming to neutralize the group’s offensive capabilities.
