Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, has convened a high-level meeting to address the challenges facing the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.
The meeting, attended by Aliko Dangote, CEO of Dangote Group, and heads of NMDPRA, NNPC, and NUPRC, aimed to find a sustainable solution to the current impasse.
The stakeholders expressed gratitude to the Minister for his leadership and timely intervention, demonstrating a commitment to collaborative problem-solving.
The Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation and synergy among stakeholders to ensure the success and optimal performance of the sector, crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth and energy security.
This meeting comes after the House of Representatives called on NMDPRA, Dangote, and oil marketers to refrain from making public accusations against each other.
Recent reports highlighted concerns over the consistency and standardization of Dangote Refinery’s output, with NMDPRA CEO Farouk Ahmed citing inferior quality compared to imported products.
Dangote responded, offering to sell the refinery to NNPCL to demonstrate his commitment to growing the country.
