Kano, Nigeria – An inspiring act of honesty unfolded at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport when Auwal Dankode, an employee of the Nigeria Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), discovered $10,000—equivalent to approximately N16 million—while cleaning an aircraft.
Rather than keeping the cash, Dankode immediately reported the find to the airline’s manager, initiating a search to locate the rightful owner of the money.
Zagazola Makaman, a prominent security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, took to the X platform to commend Dankode’s integrity. In his post, Makaman described Dankode as a man of unwavering honesty and deep faith, emphasizing the significant impact of small acts of kindness within communities.
As the investigation to identify the owner continues, social media users have widely praised Dankode’s exemplary behavior. One user, @SuperSlimEli, tweeted, “I respect people like this. We still have good individuals in this country; they must be protected at all costs.”
Another user, @Maxajee, echoed this sentiment, saying, “He’s God-fearing… Most people would have kept silent and spent the money. Auwal Dankode’s story serves as a testament to the potential for goodness that exists in the fabric of our society.”
