Abuja, Nigeria – A massive fire broke out at Eco Fitness Hub, a popular gym located in Gwarinpa, Abuja, on Wednesday morning, causing significant damage to the facility.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. while approximately 50 people were inside, participating in various fitness routines. Witnesses say the fire started in the lounge area and rapidly spread throughout the building.
“There were about 50 people inside when it began, but everyone managed to escape,” a gym member recounted.
Emergency responders, including two fire service trucks, arrived at the scene roughly 30 minutes after the fire erupted. Despite their efforts, the intensity of the flames made containment challenging, leaving large portions of the gym in ruins.
While the cause of the fire remains unknown, no casualties have been reported as of the time of this report. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the incident.
