Owerri, Nigeria – Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper and organ harvester in Douglas, Owerri, Imo State.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Justine Emmanuel from Amimo in Ikeduru Local Government Area, was apprehended during a rescue operation.
The arrest followed a swift response by police officers on patrol who observed suspicious activity involving a blue and white bus. During the operation, a 19-year-old female victim, whose identity is being withheld, was rescued.
According to the police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the officers noticed the suspects forcefully attempting to abduct the young woman to an undisclosed location, where they allegedly planned to kill her and harvest her organs.
In a dramatic turn of events, the victim managed to jump from the moving vehicle, enabling the police to rescue her. The suspects, pursued by the officers, abandoned their bus, and while one was arrested, others fled into the surrounding bush.
The police have launched an investigation to track down the fleeing suspects and uncover the extent of their criminal activities.
