Many Injured as Fully Loaded BRT Bus Overturns in Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria – A fully loaded Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle overturned in the dedicated BRT lane at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

The accident occurred shortly after the bus departed from the BRT park, resulting in injuries to 10 passengers.

A bus crashed into an abandoned pedestrian bridge foot just past the Iyana Ipaja bridge, causing it to overturn onto its side, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

LASTMA provided an update on the incident via social media platform X, confirming that all 10 victims have received necessary medical attention.

LASTMA officials responded swiftly to the scene to manage the situation, ensuring that the injured passengers were promptly attended to.

The accident has led to significant traffic disruption in the area, with authorities working to clear the lane and restore normal traffic flow.

Motorists and commuters are advised to exercise caution and adhere to traffic directives as the situation is being resolved.
