Governor Umaru Bago convened a meeting with a delegation from the China Railway Corporation in Minna, the state capital in a bid to enhance transportation infrastructure in Niger State.

The meeting, as disclosed by Abdullberqy Ebbo, the Special Adviser on Digital Communications, focused on exploring a partnership to establish a comprehensive railway network spanning across the state’s three geopolitical zones and extending to Abuja.

During the discussions, both parties explored potential collaborations in various sectors, including agriculture, housing, as well as the construction of airline hangars and the Cango terminal at Bola Tinubu International Airport Minna.

Plans to solidify the partnership include the drafting of a Concept Note and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a business relationship with the state. The ambitious project is anticipated to be funded through the China Exim Bank, marking a significant step towards improving transportation infrastructure and driving economic growth in Niger State.
