Rescue workers have worked tirelessly to see the rescue of trapped persons since last Friday. About three persons were rescued last weekend and one Monday night.

A video posted by one of the rescue team members on Facebook shows a survivor being rescued Monday night.

Many are still trapped in the collapsed building. One of the trapped persons made a call to members of his family to alert them he was trapped and still alive. His phone lines are no longer going through. He has been trapped for 5 days now without food and his family are unaware if he is still alive.

The emergency workers are drawn from Rotary International, the state government, and companies operating in Rivers state.

“The efforts are not enough.” A resident complained.  “They need to double up efforts so those trapped can be rescued alive.” He added.

Families of those trapped are calling for more rescue efforts by the government to save those trapped.
