In another operation conducted in Plateau State, the Nigerian Army captured two notorious kidnappers, identified as Isah Abdullahi, 24, and Mujahid Musa, 23, during a raid in the forested mountains of Panyam.

Abuja, Nigeria – Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully neutralized five terrorists and arrested multiple kidnappers during counter-terrorism operations in Borno and Plateau States.

According to a statement released on Tuesday via the Nigerian Army’s official X account, the soldiers launched a high-intensity raid on Boko Haram/ISWAP strongholds in the Ajiri and Mastari villages of Bama Local Government Area, Borno State, on September 29, 2024.

Leveraging superior firepower, the troops eliminated four notorious fighters and recovered an array of weapons, including two Rocket Propelled Grenade bombs, two AK-47 magazines, 28 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.62x54mm Light Machine Gun ammunition, and a Light Machine Gun Barrel.

In a separate encounter at Banki Junction, also in Bama Local Government, troops neutralized another terrorist, bringing the total to five.

During the operation, four kidnapped civilians, who had sustained injuries inflicted by their abductors, were rescued. The troops responded promptly to a distress call regarding the abduction of civilians along the Gurbi-Jibia road in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State. On arrival, the terrorists abandoned the victims and fled, allowing the army to safely evacuate the victims for medical attention.

In another operation conducted in Plateau State, the Nigerian Army captured two notorious kidnappers, identified as Isah Abdullahi, 24, and Mujahid Musa, 23, during a raid in the forested mountains of Panyam.

The suspects were allegedly involved in multiple violent attacks on villages within Mangu Local Government Area. Items recovered during the raid include two motorcycles, three mobile phones, and various other paraphernalia.

Furthermore, the army apprehended an arms dealer, Kabiru Zaki, in Bukuru town, Jos South Local Government Area, alongside another suspect linked to a recent murder in Brazongo village, Bassa Local Government Area. Investigations into their activities are ongoing.

The Army stated that these operations are part of their ongoing efforts to curb terrorism and other violent crimes in the region, further crippling the adversary’s freedom of action across the country.
