Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has been conferred a Chieftaincy title in his home place of Egbema kingdom, Rivers state.
The Nze- Obi of Egbema Kingdom, Nze Everestus Amuda, yesterday during a reception organised in honour of the superstar conferred on Nwabali the “Ugoh Egbema 1”.
The ceremony which witnessed massive crowd was organised by the council chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State, Hon. Vincent Job.
The Council Boss had last week set up a 96 man planning committee to organise a home coming for their proud son, Nwabali following his stellar performance in the just concluded African Cup of Nations.
Recall that Governor Fubara had last week awarded the goalkeeper a state honour and a whopping sum of N20 million in appreciation for representing Rivers State well in the global stage.
Nwabali is an indigene of Okwuzi community in Egbema, Rivers State.
Bro. Felix Obua, the owner of Go Round FC was also at the reception to welcome Stanley Nwabali to Okwuzi community, his home town.
Recall that Nwabali started his playing career with Go Round FC, a club based in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State.
In a Facebook post made late last night, the goalkeeper announced his return to Chippa United, a club he is under contract with.
Chippa United is a South African based club playing in the country’s top tier league.
