The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has exonerated President Bola Tinubu from responsibility for the current economic hardship in Nigeria, attributing the challenges to global economic factors.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the PGF, made this declaration during a solidarity visit to the APC secretariat in Abuja, where he commiserated with National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, over the loss of his mother-in-law.
Accompanied by Governors Bassey Otu (Cross River), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Uzodimma emphasized that the economic hardship is a global phenomenon, not unique to Nigeria.
He expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to navigate the economic challenges, citing his policies aimed at addressing the issues.
The PGF chairman also expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states, stating that the party’s strength in numbers will lead to victory.
Ganduje welcomed the governors’ visit, acknowledging their support and expressing the party’s commitment to maintaining good relationships with its governors.
This development comes as the APC prepares for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, with the PGF chairman and other governors set to monitor the polls in solidarity with their party’s candidates.
