The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and the Director-General of South-East Governors Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife, on Sunday night, met with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the State’s Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja to discus a peaceful resolution to the recent demolition of some houses in Abule Ado area of Lagos State by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
During the meeting, an extensive discussion was made on how to resolve the matter peacefully and after the meeting, both parties proposed a meeting between the stakeholders of Abule Ado and the Lagos State Government in order to look further into the issue and proffer necessary solution.
Consequently, Senator Ekwunife called on South easterners residing in the area to remain law abiding and assured them that she would always make moves that will protect their interests.
In his remarks, Senator Ubah called for calm and assured the residents of the area who are mostly perceived to be Igbos that in line with his principle of protecting the interests of ndị Igbo, he would make further efforts to ensure the amicable resolution of the issues in contention.
Senator Ubah, who has made similar interventions in the past, also expressed confidence in the ability of the Lagos state Governor to resolve the matter, stressing that the outcome of the meeting with the governor has been communicated to the President of the Association of Ndi-Igbo in Abule-Ado Community, Amuwo Odofin Lagos, Chief Nwafuribe Chukwudiegwu to liaise with all stakeholders and estate leaders.
