Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, faced another blow to his administration today as Prof Zacchaeus Adangor, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, tendered his resignation letter.
In a dramatic turn of events, Prof Adangor cited his recent redeployment to the Ministry of Special Duties (Government House) as the primary reason for his departure.
He accused Governor Fubara of interference in his office, highlighting instances where he was denied representation or participation in cases concerning the state government.
This resignation comes hot on the heels of a cabinet reshuffle by Governor Fubara, which also saw Barr Isaac Kamalu being redeployed from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Employment in Rivers State.
Both Adangor and Kamalu were previously among the commissioners who resigned during the initial leadership tussle between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. They were later reinstated following negotiations involving President Tinubu.
The latest resignation underscores the ongoing turmoil within Fubara’s administration and adds to the challenges facing his leadership amidst the Rivers crisis.
