The Carpenter’s Church in Port Harcourt has announced the passing of its Presiding Pastor, Pastor Nkechi Ene, who died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
In a statement signed by Pastor Sola Akinwale on behalf of the church, it was revealed that Pastor Ene had recently returned to Nigeria after an extensive and successful ministry trip marked by miracles and testimonies. However, she reportedly suffered a sudden health crisis while in Lagos.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our Presiding Pastor, our Mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene,” the statement read.
The church described Pastor Ene as “a woman of great faith who lived and believed the Word of God till the very end.” According to the statement, she devoted her life to serving God and humanity, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, and selfless service.
“As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds while we process this shocking news, we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is good and His mercies endure forever,” the church added. “She has now heard the words of her Master: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’”
The Carpenter’s Church urged members to support one another during this difficult time, particularly Pastor Ene’s husband, Brother Emeka Ene, and their daughters — Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi. The church also extended condolences and prayers to her mother, Ma Mercy Chijioke, and her siblings.
“We look up to and lean on the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, to strengthen us. Despite the void left by her departure, we are grateful to God for an excellent and productive life well lived,” Pastor Akinwale stated.
In its tribute, the church described Pastor Ene as “one of the great generals of God in our generation — one who lived and taught the undiluted Word of God, danced with the Holy Spirit, and by precept and example taught others to do the same.”

The statement concluded with words of faith and gratitude:
“The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever. We celebrate God’s general, our Mother-in-Israel, Pastor Mrs. Nkechinyere Ene.”
