President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s ongoing reforms in energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development during the event.
Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will participate in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in the United Arab Emirates, scheduled to take place from January 12 to 18.
The announcement was made in a statement on Friday by Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who revealed that Tinubu was invited to the event by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the statement, the summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” will convene global leaders, policymakers, business executives, and civil society representatives to accelerate sustainable development and socioeconomic growth.
“ADSW provides a global platform fostering multi-stakeholder cooperation to address global challenges and advance sustainability. The event has been held annually for over 15 years and is a testament to the power of collaboration,” the statement noted.
The summit will focus on strategic partnerships and high-value agreements between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy innovators, aiming to drive impactful collaborations and sustainable economic progress worldwide.
President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s ongoing reforms in energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development during the event.
While in the UAE, the Nigerian delegation will engage with Emirati leaders to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest. Tinubu will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar and other senior government officials.
The President is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
