A shocking incident of violence has been reported in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, where a 45-year-old ‘single’ man allegedly killed his 60-year-old neighbor after being repeatedly asked about his marital status.
The victim, Asgim Irianto, was brutally attacked by Parlindungan Siregar on July 29, according to Assistant Police Commissioner Maria Marpaung. The investigation suggests that Siregar grew increasingly frustrated with Irianto’s persistent questioning about his single status.
Irianto’s wife reported that Siregar arrived at their home armed with a piece of wood and launched a sudden assault on Irianto.
