In response to recent allegation made by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration issued a statement refuting the claims.

Atiku had alleged that President Tinubu was indifferent to pressing security and economic challenges.

Atiku Abubakar made the allegations on his social media handle yesterday berating President Tinubu for allowing insecurity to surge in the country.

The statement from the State House highlighted the recklessness of Atiku’s accusations, citing a pattern of baseless claims following his electoral defeat. President Tinubu, currently on a private visit to France, was reported to have maintained communication with officials and security chiefs, overseeing the situation in the country.

The President’s imprint was noted in the inauguration of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage, emphasizing his commitment to addressing key national issues.

The administration claimed President Tinubu has been actively involved in efforts to combat criminality, particularly directing actions against those responsible for recent incidents in Ekiti State.

Results were touted, including the arrest of over 139 kidnappers in various states and the rescue of 154 abducted persons by police Special Intervention Squad (SIS) and DSS in the past week.

The statement revealed that President Tinubu had approved significant funds, including N50 billion as a Special Fund, to address security challenges in the North East.

To address kidnapping challenges in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the President reportedly approved funds for the acquisition of equipment to track criminals. The administration argued that these measures demonstrated President Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace across the country.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, conveyed these updates on his X microblog account, asserting that President Tinubu was actively supporting security agencies to bring the situation under control.

The administration challenged Atiku to acknowledge the efforts being made and refrain from playing what they deemed as “cheap politics.”
