In a celebratory gesture, President Bola Tinubu welcomed the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja today.
The reception comes in recognition of the team’s commendable performance in the final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Côte d’Ivoire.
Amidst the gathering were all team members and officials, including Alex Iwobi, who recently faced cyber-attacks following Nigeria’s loss to Cote D’Ivoire in the AFCON final.
President Tinubu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, lauded the team, the coach, the crew, and the entire management for their exceptional display throughout the tournament.
He urged Nigerians to remain resilient and united, emphasizing the significance of the team’s achievement in winning the hearts of Africa and the world through their determination and grit on the field.
Tinubu’s statement resonated with a message of encouragement to Nigerian youths, particularly those showcasing their talents in football across communities, promising support from his administration to nurture their dreams.
