During the monthly Holy Ghost service themed “Shielded by Fire” at The Redemption City of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), disclosed that the church boasts over 200,000 pastors across Nigeria.
He used the opportunity to caution congregants against mocking those who backslide, emphasizing the need for vigilance to avoid spiritual downfall.
Responding to media reports regarding a former RCCG pastor in Ireland accused of atrocities, Adeboye stated, “Do you know the Bible says he who thinks he stands should take heed, lest he falls?”
He acknowledged the reality of backsliding and reminded attendees of Judas Iscariot’s betrayal among Jesus’ twelve disciples.
Expressing concern over recent economic developments, Adeboye lamented the surge in fuel prices and electricity tariffs, suggesting a departure from natural occurrences.
He noted the ripple effect on food prices due to increased transportation costs and referenced a prophecy predicting improvement by the end of 2025.
Adeboye, the overall leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has been facing heavy criticism from Nigerians in recent times due to some controversial comments he made. During a church service, Adeboye claimed that he asked God to stop the fall of snow in America when he visited for his program and that it was granted. This statement caused a massive uproar on Nigerian social media.
