A devastating fire outbreak this evening hits hostel F at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State.
A student identified as Sochima Esther confirmed to Report Afrique that the incident was caused by the explosion of cooking gas in the hostel.
Sochima narrated that the Vice Chancellor and the Dean of Student Affairs intervened, calming the situation.
President of the Rivers State Students in the University, Comrade Garrick Chioduye when contacted said they were still ascertaining the level of damage caused by the outbreak.
This is happening a few weeks after a devastating fire outbreak occurred on the night of April 26, 2024, at Aleto along the East-west road in the Eleme axis of Rivers State, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming multiple lives.
