The Federal High Court has declared the impeachment of Phillip Shuaibu as Deputy Governor of Edo State null and void.

Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment, directing that Shuaibu be reinstated to his position immediately.

The court found that the Edo State House of Assembly failed to follow due process in impeaching Shuaibu, and that the allegations against him did not constitute gross misconduct. Additionally, the appointment of a new Deputy Governor to replace Shuaibu was set aside.

The court has ordered the Inspector General of Police to provide Shuaibu with necessary security to enable him to resume office and perform his duties until the end of his tenure.
