NNPCL Confirms Fuel Scarcity in Lagos and Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has acknowledged fuel supply and distribution challenges in parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), assuring the public that efforts are underway to restore normalcy.

In a statement released on Saturday, Chief Corporate Communications Officer Olufemi Soneye attributed the scarcity to issues with the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.

“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels,” Soneye said.

He added that the company is collaborating with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and ensure normal operations resume as soon as possible.

NNPCL’s statement comes amid reports of long queues and rising fuel prices in various parts of the country.

The official announcement was also shared via the organisation’s Twitter handle.
