The President General of Umucheke Okwe Autonomous Community, Chief Hyginus Ohazurike, was killed alongside six other community leaders in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to Vanguard, the gunmen, who arrived at the scene in a vehicle, stormed the meeting place where the community leaders were gathered at the President General’s shop. Without warning, they opened fire on the group, killing all seven persons. The attackers then set the building ablaze before fleeing the scene.
