Ibadan, Nigeria – Benedict Akika, a prominent ally of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was abducted by gunmen late Wednesday night at his residence in the Idi-Ape area, along Akobo Ojurin-Olohunda road, Ibadan.
Reports indicate that during the abduction, one individual was shot and killed. While the identity of the victim remains unconfirmed, the incident has sparked concern within the local community.
Authorities have yet to provide detailed information regarding the kidnapping. Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, for updates were unsuccessful at the time of this report. However, police sources indicate that law enforcement is working to manage the situation.
