Elders Apologize to Wike Over Fubara’s Actions

Port harcourt, Nigeria – The Elders Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has apologized to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the rift between him and his successor, Siminalayi Fubara. The apology was made on Saturday at the Rivers State Ijaw Peoples Congress, which was organized in Wike’s honour in Port Harcourt.

According to Boma Iyaye, the Executive Director of Finance at the Niger Delta Development Commission and leader of the elders, the Ijaw people were sorry for the embarrassment and public display of disrespect shown to Wike by Fubara. “On behalf of our people, we are apologizing to you for what our son is doing to you,” Iyaye said. “We are sorry because it is not in our nature to pay evil for good. You have done well for us, and we will continue to say thank you.”

Iyaye also urged Wike not to distance himself from the Ijaw people due to Fubara’s actions, saying that the minister had done a lot for the community and would continue to be remembered as a hero. “Your Excellency, do not run away from us because of this bad behaviour of our son,” he said. “Continue to be our brother and have us in mind. We have never set our feet on the number one seat of Rivers State, but you made it possible for us to become the governor.”

Ferdinard Anabraba, Chairman of the Elders Forum, PDP Rivers State, also spoke out against Fubara’s administration, describing it as an aberration that did not reflect the opinions or values of the Ijaw people. “We see you as the light of Rivers State,” he said. “You are indeed a notable strategist in Nigeria’s contemporary politics and without doubt, you are the most celebrated Ijaw politician of national recognition.”

The elders praised Wike for his contributions to the development of Rivers State and his role in empowering the Ijaw people. They emphasized that Wike’s achievements would not be forgotten and that he would continue to be respected and admired by the Ijaw community.
