The Nigerian Army has officially announced the start of online registration for its 88 Regular Recruit Intake Exercise aimed at both trades and non-trades men and women. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply through the designated portal, with the registration period running from September 30 to November 8, 2024.

In their announcement, the Army detailed the necessary requirements, application procedures, and essential guidelines for prospective recruits. Importantly, they emphasized that the application process is free, urging candidates to submit only one application; multiple submissions will result in disqualification.

Interested individuals should visit the Nigerian Army recruitment website at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng to complete their registration within the specified dates.

Basic Requirements Include:

  1. Candidates must be single Nigerian citizens by birth, possessing a National Identity Card, NIN slip, or BVN.
  2. Applicants should meet the Nigerian Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards.
  3. A clean criminal record, free from court convictions, is mandatory.
  4. All candidates must have at least four passes, including English Language, in no more than two sittings of WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB.
  5. Those applying as tradesmen or women are required to hold a TRADES TEST or CITY AND GUILD CERTIFICATE, with additional details available on the recruitment website.
  6. A valid birth certificate, endorsed by an appropriate authority, is necessary.
  7. There are age restrictions: candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 22 for non-trades roles, and trades applicants cannot exceed 26 years as of December 31, 2024.
  8. Height requirements state that male candidates must be at least 1.68 meters tall, while female candidates must be a minimum of 1.65 meters.
  9. A valid certificate of state of origin is also required.

Important Notes on Document Verification:

All documents submitted by applicants will undergo verification by relevant authorities. Individuals presenting fraudulent documents will be prosecuted by law enforcement.

Application Process:

Candidates will need to apply online via the recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng. They must create an account, fill out the application form, submit it online, and print a copy for themselves. Additionally, they should print and complete the Guarantor Form.

Those advancing in the selection process must bring duly signed copies of both the application and Guarantor forms to their designated state recruitment centers.

Screening and Recruitment Procedures:

It is important for candidates to note that there will not be a pre-selection Computer-Based Test (CBT), nor will there be any special recruitment centers. Screening will occur within the candidates’ respective states of origin.

Candidates should refrain from bringing any electronic devices or recording equipment to the recruitment exercise venues. Furthermore, applicants should be tattoo-free and must provide original copies of their educational certificates from primary and secondary school.

Affiliation with any societies, cults, or fraternities will disqualify candidates from consideration. Those found to have submitted forged or falsified documents at any stage of the process, including during training at the Depot Nigerian Army, will be dismissed.

Candidates are strongly advised not to offer bribes or inducements to anyone to aid in the recruitment process. It is also essential to bring their NIN slip. For additional information or inquiries, candidates can reach out to the support lines at 07036499094 and 09041116433.

Finally, the names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the Nigerian Army’s official website, and those selected will be required to report for the screening exercise at their respective states of origin between December 5 and December 19, 2024.
