Abuja, Nigeria – The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed as the party’s new Acting National Chairman.
This follows the suspension of the previous Acting National Chairman, His Excellency Amb. Illiya Damagum.
The decision was made in accordance with the provisions of the PDP Constitution as amended in 2017. According to a press release signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the appointment is effective immediately.
The NWC has called on all party organs, leaders, stakeholders, and members to remain focused during this critical time. Preparations are underway for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
The PDP’s leadership transition comes as the party gears up for important decisions ahead of the upcoming NEC meeting, where significant issues affecting the future of the party will be discussed.
